Founded in 1957, the Berkshire Unit operates two recording studios, one in Lenox, the other in Williamstown, the home of Williams College. There are more than 155 volunteers at the two studios, including both primary and second home residents.

The Berkshire Chapter of the New England Unit recently honored volunteer Laughran “Larry” Vaber for his 50 years of service. Read more about it.

Volunteer Information:

Volunteer job opportunities include: reader, monitor, bookmarker, quality checker, special events, fundraising, public relations, and educational outreach. Readers and monitors with backgrounds in math, science, or computer science are especially needed.

Educational Outreach:

The unit provides outreach to the four western counties of Massachusetts.
