Donating to RFB&D and
The Boston Unit
- By Mail
Send your gift directly to:
Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic
Boston Unit
58 Charles Street
Cambridge, MA 02141
- By credit card
You
can make a gift by credit card
online through our national website by visiting RFB&D's
Donate Now page. Your
gift will be made through our secured server and can be directed
to the Boston Unit, RFB&D/National or both.
- Gifts of Stock
You
may want to consider donating
shares of your appreciated stock instead of cash. You will completely
eliminate the tax on the gain and will receive a tax deduction
for the full value of your gift. All you need to do is write
a letter to your broker stating how many shares of the stock
you want to donate to RFB&D/Boston.
The stock gift can be directed to the address
above.
- RFB&D and your estate
The
following language can be used if you wish to name RFB&D
in your will: "I give, devise, bequeath to the Boston Unit
of Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic, Inc., 58 Charles
Street, Cambridge, MA 02141, the sum of $_______ or _______% of my estate."
For
additional information about supporting the Boston Unit of RFB&D,
contact Preston Grandin, director of development, at (617) 577-1111,
ext. 22, or through e-mail at pgrandin@rfbd.org.
- Consider a gift annuity for RFB&D
If you have a certificate
of deposit (CD) that is reaching maturity and you are thinking
of renewing it, you are most likely looking at rates of return
between 1.7% for a one-year CD and 3.6% for a five-year one. An
attractive alternative to consider is a charitable gift annuity
to RFB&D/Boston Unit, which will significantly increase your
income and provide you with a tax deduction. Here are some examples
of current gift annuity rates:
| Age 60 - 6.4% |
Age 75 - 7.9% |
| Age 65 - 6.7% |
Age 80 - 8.9% |
| Age 70 - 7.2% |
|
The charitable gift annuity
document is just one page and easy to complete. This could be
a very nice gift both for you and the Boston Unit. For more information,
please contact Preston Grandin at 617-577-1111 x22 or pgrandin@rfbd.org.
