Orientation sessions for schools

Interested in learning more about RFB&D's services? Call and schedule a free orientation session. If you simply want a brief overview of our services, we will come out to your school and give a short (approximately 30 minutes), but comprehensive presentation that is sure to answer most of your questions concerning our various membership programs. Orientations are available year round, for member and non-member schools. For more information, please call or email us.

Teacher training for Learning Through Listening (LTL) Institutional Member schools

Teacher training is vital to a successful audio book program and is a free benefit with your RFB&D membership. We highly encourage scheduling at least one teacher training session each year of membership with us for your new teachers or teacher's aides. Refresher training sessions are also available for returning teachers. The training covers the basics of audio book ordering and use of our playback devices. A typical teacher training session lasts approximately 45-60 minutes.

Student training for LTL schools

RFB&D's outreach department offers free student training to ensure that pupils successfully use our audio books. Student training can be conducted one-on-one or in small groups, and is especially helpful for older students who want to use audio books more independently.

Along with instruction on the actual use of audio book playback devices, our outreach staff will give students helpful hints on active listening strategies.

Advanced training for LTL member schools

The Boston outreach department now offers an advanced training program on classroom applications. This training is designed for educators who already know the basics but are interested in acquiring specific tools for using audio books within their classrooms.
