Car, Truck, Motorcycle, RV or Boat
Thinking about trading in that old Ford Taurus? We'll accept your car, truck,
motorcycle, recreational vehicle or boat. The process is easy - just go
to www.charitableautoresources.com
or call 877-537-5277. Make sure you state that your vehicle is to
be donated to RFB&D-LA. We'll pick up your vehicle, complete all of
the DMV processing and give you a receipt for your IRS tax deduction. For
further information, contact Mike Davis at 909-949-4316 ext 101 or
mdavis@rfbd.org.
Appreciated Securities
You may want to consider donating shares of your appreciated securities
(stocks, bonds or mutual funds held by you for more than one year) instead
of cash. Donating securities to RFB&D-LA may allow you to reduce or
avoid more capital gains taxes and receive a federal income tax charitable
deduction. This may be especially appealing if you are holding shares that
have appreciated significantly in value but yield a low dividend. All you
have to do is write a letter to your broker stating how many shares of the
securities you want to donate to RFB&D-LA. For more information, contact
Mike Davis at 909-949-4316 ext 101 or mdavis@rfbd.org.

the endowment to its goal of $250,000 are welcome from individuals, corporations

Planned Giving
Bequests:
The following language can be used if you wish to name Recording for the
Blind & Dyslexic in your will: "I give, devise, bequeath to the
Los Angeles unit of Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic, Inc., 5022 Hollywood
Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA, 90027-6192, the sum of $________ or _________%
of my estate."
Life Insurance:
If you have excess life insurance, you may enjoy tax benefits by designing
RFB&D-LA as the beneficiary of an existing life insurance policy. In
order to deduct premium payments as charitable deductions, the donor must
name RFB&D-LA as both owner and beneficiary of the policy.
Charitable Remainder Trusts/Annuities:
These planned giving vehicles give you the opportunity to make a gift and
provide flexibility to design a trust to meet your individual needs. There
are two types. "Unitrusts" have a variable payout which can provide
a hedge against inflation. "Annuity Trusts" provide the certainty
of a fixed payment each year. A major advantage of these trusts is that
RFB&D-LA can accept highly-appreciated low-yielding securities, then
reinvest them for higher income and diversification - all at no capital
gains to you. For further information about planned giving, contact Mike
Davis at 909-949-4316 ext 101 or mdavis@rfbd.org.
RFB&D

our educational outreach program to students, teachers and schools in
the Los Angeles area.

organization. The Los Angeles unit was established in 1951 and provides
services to 2,400 students with print disabilities in Los Angeles and

Every dollar donated to RFB&D-LA stays in our community. You can
help by making a tax-deductible contribution.
