COUNTY SUPERVISOR ANTONOVICH Joins Board of Directors of RECORDING FOR THE BLIND & DYSLEXIC-LALos Angeles, California, September 9, 2005 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic-Los Angeles (RFB&D-LA) is proud to announce that Michael D. Antonovich, Supervisor, Fifth District of Los Angeles County, has joined their board of directors. He graduated from CSULA with a Master of Arts and a Secondary Teaching Credential, and served in the United States Army Reserve. Antonovich is a former member of the California State Assembly, and was an instructor at CSULA and Pepperdine University. He has been involved with numerous community activities as diverse as the Tournament of Roses Committee, to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home for Retarded Children, to the Board of Directors for the San Gabriel Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He has received countless honors by Federal, State and City leaders and officials. Antonovich is married to Christine Hu, and they have two children. RFB&D is a unique national nonprofit organization
that records audio textbooks for students of all ages with vision,
physical and learning disabilities, offering their services for
more than 50 years. The Los Angeles Unit of RFB&D has three
recording studios located in Hollywood, Reseda and Redondo Beach.
Their more than 500 volunteers produce all of the audio textbooks
used in RFB&D's Learning Through Listening® programs.
