NORRIS FOUNDATION SUPPORTS RFB&D-LA

Gives Underprivileged Students with Print Disabilities a Chance to Learn through Listening

Long Beach, CA, October 29, 2002 - RFB&D-LA (Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic-Los Angeles) is proud to announce the receipt of $7,500 from the Norris Foundation whose offices are located in Long Beach, California. This generous donation will be used to provide school memberships in areas of the Los Angeles community that serve low income students through RFB&D-LA's Educational Outreach Program.

RFB&D is a unique national nonprofit organization that records audio textbooks for students of all ages with vision, physical and learning disabilities. They have been offering their services for more than 50 years. RFB&D-LA serves approximately 2,300 students with print disabilities in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.

RFB&D-LA has three recording studios that utilize volunteers to record all the textbooks. Locations include El Segundo, Reseda and Hollywood.

The family founded Norris Foundation supports programs that advance better health and intellectual enlightenment through education, cultivation of the arts, individual responsibility, freedom and dignity.
