ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY FOUNDATION SUPPORTS RFB&D-LA

Los Angeles, CA, November 12, 2002 - RFB&D-LA (Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic-Los Angeles) is proud to announce the receipt of a $6,000 grant from the Entertainment Industry Foundation. The grant was awarded to provide funds to meet the cost of recording critically needed textbooks to help students with print disabilities learn through listening. RFB&D-LA Executive Director Carol Smith stated her gratefulness to the Entertainment Industry Foundation and said, "Funding like this allows us to continue to provide vital services to our student members, so they will have equal opportunity to reach their educational dreams."

RFB&D is a unique national nonprofit organization that, for more than 50 years, has recorded audio textbooks for students of all ages with vision, physical and learning disabilities. RFB&D-LA serves approximately 2,300 students with print disabilities in Los Angeles and Ventura counties, while the organization's national RFB&D CV Starr learning through listening™ Master Library holds more than 93,000 audio textbooks.

The mission of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, as the philanthropic voice of the entertainment industry, is to facilitate the collective power of the entire industry to raise awareness and funds for critical social issues in order to make a positive impact in our community and throughout the nation.
