Additional media inquiries: ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY FOUNDATION SUPPORTS RFB&D-LALos Angeles, CA, November 12, 2002 - RFB&D-LA (Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic-Los Angeles) is proud to announce the receipt of a $6,000 grant from the Entertainment Industry Foundation. The grant was awarded to provide funds to meet the cost of recording critically needed textbooks to help students with print disabilities learn through listening. RFB&D-LA Executive Director Carol Smith stated her gratefulness to the Entertainment Industry Foundation and said, "Funding like this allows us to continue to provide vital services to our student members, so they will have equal opportunity to reach their educational dreams."
RFB&D is a unique national nonprofit organization that, for
more than 50 years, has recorded audio textbooks for students
of all ages with vision, physical and learning disabilities. RFB&D-LA
serves approximately 2,300 students with print disabilities in
Los Angeles and Ventura counties, while the organization's national
RFB&D CV Starr learning through listening Master Library
