A HALF-CENTURY OF VOLUNTEERING FOR
RFB&DS LARRY VABER
 |
The Berkshire Chapter of the New England Unit
of RFB&D recently honored veteran volunteer Laughran
Larry Vaber for his 50 years of valued service.
|
An honorary event was held October 30 at the Lenox
Club in Lenox, Massachusetts, where friends and colleagues paid
tribute to Larry and helped establish the Laughran Vaber Audio
Fund, which will support the production of audio textbooks to
serve RFB&D members around the country.
Larry, a former RFB&D board member, began recording
for us in New York City way back in 1955, moved to the Berkshires,
and began volunteering there when the studio opened in 1957. Today,
he still records in Lenox, reads at the Florida Unit during the
winter, and also at the New York Unit when he visits the city.
