Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic (RFB&D), founded in New York in 1948, has been serving New Yorkers who are blind, visually impaired, physically disabled or have a learning disability. We are proud to have opened up to thousands of our New York members access to books whose covers would have remained closed.

This is an exciting yet challenging time for all of us at RFB&D as the demand for our services and the number of members continues to increase. Last year our 230 volunteers donated over 18,000 hours of service and recorded 250 textbooks. Our CV Starr Learning Through Listening® Library now contains more than 110,000 titles. Through our educational outreach program we currently work with 135 member schools in New York City and Nassau County servicing over 4,000 students in all grade levels.

If you are interested in learning more about us or want to volunteer, please give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you.
