Northern California Unit Location: Studio Hours of Operation: The Northern California Unit was established in 1967 in Palo Alto. Our territory covers nine counties including San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Monterey, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, and Sonoma. Over 4,500 student members from kindergarten through graduate school are currently served across all nine of these counties. We have 3 field educational outreach offices in San Francisco, the South Bay, and the East Bay serving individual students and 160 schools in those local areas. Our digital production studio and offices in Palo Alto have five recording booths where over 200 volunteers recorded 140 textbooks last year. These dedicated volunteers annually donate over 16,000 hours of their time. Please contact us directly if you are interested in becoming a volunteer, financial donor or member.
