On Monday, October 27, 2008 South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford signed a proclamation claiming October as Dyslexia Awareness month in South Carolina in support of RFB&D and dyslexia awareness.

On Tuesday, January 15th, 2008, RFB&D was awarded a $15,000 grant to serve students at The South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind.
This grant will help pay for additional playback units for students and fund training for volunteers to become readers.
