View a short video, Building Confidence, Building Lives to see the impact RFB&D has on the lives of students with print disabilities.

"For many students, this is the first time they have been able to keep up with their classes and/or peers and their self-confidence, as well as their grades, is soaring. It is also a self-esteem booster to be able to use technology (a CD player) that isn't foreign, but well known, to their peers. I see some of my students who did not like to read, or who really struggled to read, acquire a new found love of books. It is wonderful to see them get lost in a book for the first time! Many thanks to RFB&D."

“The most positive thing for my children has been access. Prior to this year, my students have not been able to read the grade-level science or social studies books. As a result of having a membership with RFB&D, my students now have access to these books and are able to read them this year.”

“Since being introduced to RFB&D in September, I have become an advocate of the program. Using the materials provided by RFB&D, I have seen marked improvement in the performance of my students who have learning disabilities in their regular classes. I began using the program in onjunction with specific IEP objectives, like identifying main idea and reading for detail, in the resource class using regular classroom textbooks. Suddenly, students were scoring better on chapter tests and their daily grades went up as they completed reviews that required a comprehension of the text. Not only were my students actually learning and retaining content-specific information, their grades were improving! Students’ ability to read the material fluently and with confidence improved as well. Before, the higher level vocabulary of the textbooks was intimidating for those of my students who had trouble decoding and reading aloud with ease. Now, they argue over who will read aloud to me first from the textbook after hearing a passage from the Victor Reader Wave!”
