Studio Art Exhibits
To increase a sense of community and bring new people to the
Texas studio, we will be showcasing new and local artists' work
on rotation every two months. If you know someone who might be
interested or would like to volunteer at art openings, please
contact cnightingale@rfbd.org.
Artists accepted for the show will have their work exhibited during
a time selected by RFB&D. Arrangements can be made to assist
with transport of art work. There is no fee to enter, however,
a 10% donation of sales revenues is requested back to RFB&D.
Please join us for our next opening and visit the websites of
our latest artists.

Photography of Ethan Ham
Reception Thursday, Feb. 7th, 6-8pm
RFB&D is proud to host the photography of Ethan Ham February
7th through April 15th, 2008. Ethan Ham has resided in Austin, Texas
for over 26 years. His compositions reveal spontaneity and improvisation
in both his methods and his moods from countries such as Italy and
central Mexico, and in the states of California, Maine, Arizona,
and central Texas. Whether it is inches from the subject or miles,
he would like to capture the unique way in which he sees the world
and share this with others. www.ethanphotography.com
Being Human-The Work of Dawn Okoro
December 13, 2007- February 2008
Thursday December 13th, 2007 6-8pm Opening Reception
Texas artist Dawn Okoro shares her paintings with the RFB&D
studio. Inspired by the Pop Art Movement, Okoro uses photography
and collage to add to each painting. All at once self-portrait
and "popular culture-ized" at the same time these paintings
reflect the contrast between inner and outer influences of being
human. Visit Dawn Okoro's website at www.dawnokoro.com.
The Prints and Drawings of Melissa Oden
October 4, 2007- December 11th, 2007
Thursday, October 4th, 2007 6-8pm Opening Reception
The Regional Unit of Texas of RFB&D is proud to welcome New
York artist Melissa Oden for her solo exhibit of prints and drawings.
In her own words, "I believe there is a story in every moment.
I invite the viewer into my reality where everyday scenes are
re-examined and transformed into psychologically charged and distorted
environments. My inspiration is derived from observing the life
that surrounds me in New York. Bright and candy-like colors are
used to mask or in many cases heighten notions of the underlying
sinister qualities of these scenes. As with my figures, the objects
are lively and often relate to each other in a human fashion."
Visit Melissa Oden's website at www.melissaoden.com.
