How Do I Place an Audio Textbook Order?

You can order your audiobooks online by selecting the ORDER NOW button above and at the top of every page on this site, or you can place your order by phone, fax, e-mail or US mail.

If you choose to order online, you may browse the catalog without logging in, but when you are ready to place your order, you must log in.

If you choose to order books via one of the other methods, be certain to include the following information:

• Your borrower ID number (optional)
• Your name
• Your daytime phone number
• Your mailing address
• Book title and/or shelf number, including prefix to indicate whether the book is analog or digital.
• Author
• Copyright date, edition or grade level

Prior to placing your order, you can find the titles and shelf numbers by clicking the ORDER NOW button and browsing RFB&D's online catalog.

How Will Books Be Mailed?

Audio books are mailed "Free Matter for the Blind or Handicapped," which can take up to two weeks. If you would like faster delivery, you can request to have the books sent to you by way of United Parcel Service (UPS) or first class. You will be charged for the postage costs.

The turnaround time for fulfilling and shipping book orders is approximately two working days. RFB&D's busiest times, or "peak periods," are the months of January, June and mid- August through the end of September. We encourage you to place your book requests well ahead of these months. Processing a book request can take up to a week during peak periods, and mail delivery time may require an additional two weeks. Thus, we recommend you submit your order at least four to five weeks in advance of your needs.
