How to Receive Services
from the
Metropolitan Washington Unit
RFB&D serves students with visual, learning
or other physical disabilities that prevent them from reading
print effectively. RFB&D of Metropolitan Washington currently
serves nearly 5,000 students in the District, Northern Virginia
and Maryland suburbs.
An RFB&D membership gives students access
to our library of over 40,000 educational audiobooks. Our
library contains volumes for every grade level, from elementary
to graduate. We also provide extensive hands-on training on
the use of RFB&D texts and players.
We serve local students both individually
and through their schools. We work with after-school programs
in inner-city neighborhoods to provide recorded texts to students
in underserved areas of our community.
For more information or to learn about formal
presentations and informal training sessions for students,
parents and educators, call 202-244-8990, ext. 27.
