In the CommunityRFB&D-LA is an important member of the surrounding community, reaching out to schools and individuals in many fashions. We give training sessions at schools, presentations at clubs and organizations, and we attend literacy fairs, education conferences and other community affairs. Teacher in-services, weekly staff meetings, open house events and PTA meetings are just some examples of when you could schedule an RFB&D presentation or training at your school. Give parents and educators an opportunity to learn more about resources available to help struggling readers keep up in school. Please keep in mind: a student does not have to be labeled as "blind"
or "dyslexic" to utilize these services. A student who is
not proficiently reading printed material and is identified, or even
suspected, of having a reading disability is eligible to benefit from
RFB&D's audio books. For further information, contact Member Services
at 323-664-5525 ext. 101 or e-mail them at memberservices@rfbdla.org The Los Angeles Unit gets involved to promote awareness of the services provided and volunteer opportunities. Scroll down to see what we've been up to! Community Conferences & Fairs
