JENNIFER MORELAND NAMED VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES
AND MARKETING AT PRINCETON-BASED NATIONAL NONPROFIT RECORDING
FOR THE BLIND & DYSLEXIC® (RFB&D®)
January 16, 2008 (Princeton, NJ) - Recording for the Blind
& Dyslexic® (RFB&D®), the nation's educational
library for students of all ages who cannot effectively read standard
print because of a learning disability, visual impairment or other
physical disability, has named Jennifer Moreland as Vice President,
Sales and Marketing.
"We are fortunate to have recruited someone of Jennifer's
background and caliber," said Julia Freedman, Senior Vice
President for Programs and Services at RFB&D. "Jennifer
has proven strengths in leadership, team building and communications,
as well as the art and expertise of sales and marketing. She will
be an excellent addition to RFB&D's team."
Moreland, a native of Jamaica and resident of Princeton, brings
to RFB&D a distinguished background with the Johnson &
Johnson Corporation, where she held a number of senior positions,
developing innovative strategies for marketing, outreach and sales.
Most recently, she was Executive Director within J&J's Strategic
Customer group. In this capacity, she developed and implemented
enterprise-wide, customer-centric, go-to-market strategies.
"I am looking forward to helping shape RFB&D's efforts
to reach more of the nearly two million individuals with print
disabilities in America," said Moreland. "I have worked
to expand the access for vital healthcare products and services
for more than 25 years. My new position at RFB&D will allow
me to continue to expand access for individuals with disabilities.
I am excited at the opportunities ahead."
Moreland is a graduate of Swarthmore College, where she received
a BA in chemistry. At J&J, as a member of the Corporate Women's
Leadership Initiative Steering Committee, she co-chaired the Women
of Color/ Multicultural Women Subcommittee. She also served on
the corporate African American Leadership Council (AALC) Board
for several years.
RFB&D serves more than 185,000 students
from kindergarten through graduate school and beyond with its
one-of-a-kind collection of digitally recorded educational titles.
RFB&D's AudioPlus® digitally recorded textbooks on CD
provide unprecedented navigation, ease of use and proven effectiveness
as learning tools for students with print disabilities. Students
rely on RFB&D's unique accommodation to access the printed
page and to achieve educational success. All of RFB&D's accessible
titles are recorded by volunteers working in 29 RFB&D recording
studios nationwide.
