Students & Professionals
As
a student or professional, you will find that there are several benefits
to becoming an individual member.
These include:
-
Access to RFB&D's extensive library of digitally recorded titles. Visit our home page to see the latest count of how many audiobook titles are in our library.
-
The ability to pursue independent or supplemental reading even if your school has its own Annual Institutional Membership.
-
The ability to request the recording of a book not in our current collection.
Additionally, as an individual member, not only will you be able to order your recorded textbooks independently and have them shipped directly to your house, but you can also take your membership with you as you move from high school to college and beyond.
Anyone
with a documented disability that limits or prevents his or her ability
to read standard print effectively is eligible to become a registered member
with RFB&D. This includes people with visual impairments, learning disabilities
or other physical disabilities. To find out how RFB&D has helped others,
see our Success Stories.
It's easy to register with RFB&D. Since we are a nonprofit organization, we charge a nominal membership fee to help defray the costs of providing our unique services to as many eligible people as possible. The cost of an individual membership is free, plus a registration fee of $65.
In order to play RFB&D audiobooks, you will need to use specially adapted CD players and software, a Windows®-compatible desktop computer, or portable media player. RFB&D offers a complete line of players, software and accessories for nonprofit sale. Visit the Players and Accessories page for more information.*
