For nearly 60 years, Recording for the Blind
& Dyslexic has been an invaluable educational resource, enabling
those with print disabilities to complete their education, advance
their careers and gain self esteem. As part of our dedication
to founder Anne T. Macdonald's principle that education is a right,
not a privilege, we have developed these websites for the benefit
of our members and donors, and committed ourselves to responsible
stewardship of information gathered here.
General Privacy Policy - for all
RFB&D sites and e-mail newsletters
It is the strict policy of RFB&D that membership information
is never given to any other party, for any reason. We do, however,
exchange donor information with other reputable charitable concerns.
This information would contain e-mail addresses, and/or mailing
addresses, but never financial information. If you DO NOT wish
your donor information to be shared with other charitable concerns,

address so that we can locate your information. We do not share
member or donor telephone numbers, for any reason.
CHILDREN: Be sure to ask your parents or guardians for
permission before you send any information about yourself to us,
or anyone else over the Internet.
PARENTS/GUARDIANS: We encourage
you to be involved with your child's online usage. We ask on our
registration forms, that those who are under the age of 18 notify
us. Any personally identifiable information we obtain from those
who identify themselves as minors will be used only for internal
use by RFB&D to facilitate their requests, and may be retained
in our internal database. However, aside from aggregate data,
used for statistical and market research purposes (i.e. 20% of
our catalog users are under 18), no personally identifiable information
about a minor will be posted or published by us, or provided to
any third parties, without your prior consent.
MEMBERS: RFB&D does not
provide, sell or lease your personally identifiable information
to any third parties.
DONORS: Except to those that
have been mentioned here, RFB&D does not provide, sell or
lease your personally identifiable information to third parties.
SECURITY: We always use industry
standard encryption techniques (SSL)when transferring and receiving
consumer data exchanged with our site. However, If you are using
a browser other than Internet Explorer or Netscape, such as Lynx,
Mosaic, or Opera, your transactions may not be secure. To place

While RFB&D encourages third parties to follow appropriate

if the e-mail was opened, whether it was deleted, what links were
