RFB&D's AudioPlusT Digital Talking Textbook Campaign

With the help of our generous donors,
RFB&D has developed digital recording technology
to help students with print disabilities
use textbooks as the true learning,
study and research tools they are meant to be.

On September 3, 2002, RFB&D will make available an inaugural collection of RFB&D's digital talking textbooks on CD to our members across the country. These first 6,000 books, called RFB&D's AudioPlusT digitally recorded textbooks, complement our CV Starr Learning Through ListeningT Library's collection of more than 91,000 accessible texts in every subject area and grade level, from kindergarten through graduate school.

From Harry Potter to Organic Chemistry, RFB&D's AudioPlus digital talking textbooks provide students with unprecedented convenience and ease of access to the printed page. For the first time, students using RFB&D's uniquely accessible educational materials will have the ability to navigate quickly and efficiently through a textbook by page, chapter and subheading. In addition, students can bookmark pages or passages for later reference. Best of all, the content of most standard textbooks fit on a single CD that can be played on a specialized CD player, or with specialized software, on a multimedia PC.

Now, with your support, we will continue to record new titles and convert existing titles into a digital format so that RFB&D members of all ages can meet their educational potential, and maintain independence and self esteem in our classrooms and in our communities.

CV Starr Learning Through Listening Library
of accessible textbooks

$5000 Enrolls donors in RFB&D's Bronze Giving Club and enables RFB&D to complete an important project that will enable us to offer members online ordering through our accessible website.

$10,000 Enrolls donors in RFB&D's Silver Giving Club. Your gift purchases the software we need to outfit additional digital recording facilities and to expand
our library of digital talking textbooks.

$25,000 Enrolls donors in RFB&D's Gold Giving Club. These gifts enable the purchase of state-of-the-art hardware to create digital talking textbooks for our
CV Starr Learning Through Listening Library.

$50,000 Enrolls donors in RFB&D's Platinum Giving Club and will create a collection of digital talking textbooks in the subject area of your choosing, for example, medicine, law, religious studies or science.
The collection will be named to honor you or someone you would like to memorialize or honor.
